It might be that time of the year again...when you start thinking about gift ideas. I think it would be special to buy a wine matching the year of someone's birth to give on their birthday. So it has to be the right wine that ages well and is still beautiful, even after all these years. With these criteria in mind, very often people go straight for a fine wine or a liquor but then when an equally fascinating option comes in...
Here is one - Seppeltsfield, one of Australia's oldest wineries, regarded as "The most historic winery and greatest showpiece in the Barossa Valley" by James Halliday. Last year the winery released their signature wines the "100 Year Old Para Tawny". This is a single vintage Port started back in 1878 and since then no vintage has been missed. Seppeltsfield remains the only winery in the world to release a centenary wine every year, for more than 130 consecutive vintages until today.
That is a very nice bottle in wooden case and rich in tawny history and tradition there.
The Seppeltsfield Centennial Para Tawny Collection is certified for authenticity. (Note: The above image shows a 375ml bottle). Limited-edition produced in a very tiny quantity, this Collection suits as a milestone anniversary gift, collectors item or a very special birthday gift uniquely for a 50th, 60th, 70th or even 100th birthday.
