Nebbiolo is a red wine originated in northern Italy in the region of Piedmont. This is the region that is famous for its Barolo DOCG and Barbaresco DOCG wines. It produces outstanding wines with great complexity and aromatics of red fruit, rose, liquorice and hay. High in alcohol, plus its naturally high levels of tannin and acidity, it has great ageing potential and can develop in bottles for a decade or more.

The Langhe DOC also produces Nebbiolo and it overlaps with the Barolo and Barbaresco. Producers of the Barolo and Barbaresco appellations sometimes choose to categorise their wines from a DOCG to a Langhe DOC. For this reason, Langhe can represent the best value in Piedmont.
