New Zealand is a relatively new wine-producing country. As the vines grows in age and the sub-regions become recognized clusters of quality, the terrors of New Zealand will become more identifiable to the consumers. 

New Zealand wines tend to have a cool climate characteristic and are varietally-vibrant with an intense, upfront, fruit-forward character due to its exposure to a very high sunlight intensive with much higher levels of ultraviolet light than the rest of the world.
