Francois Villard St. Joseph Blanc 'Mairlant' 2018, Rhone, France (750ml)
|| Grapes:||50% Marsanne, 50% Roussanne|
|| Type:||Dry White|
Creamy round in the texture, they are very nice to enjoy to many different kinds of food. Villard's 2018 Saint-Joseph Blanc Mairlant is made at 50% marsanne and 50% rousanne from 20-year-old logs in the villages of St-Pierre de Boeuf and Limony. The wine spends 11 months on its yeast precipitate. Only 8,500 bottles are released annually.
A delightful scent of butter fried brioche, roasted nuts, grilled lemon, white peach, flowers and yellow ripe apples.
The wine has a large body with a hefty weight, but with a fresh acidity that balances the wine and results in a fresh and mineral-driven aftertaste.
Suitable for some more powerful fish dishes, but also for poultry and calves.
